Mckay Lodge Fine Arts Conservation Laboratory, Inc. provides experienced consultant conservators for museum collection preservation. McKay Lodge Inc. is a large and energetic company providing a broad range of professional services in art conservation to museums including assessment, treatment, and analytical services. The professional staff members are conservators holding advanced degrees in art conservation and specializing in the most common categories of museum objects and materials.

Our staff conservators are trained in general museum collections preservation practices and keep abreast of the latest guidelines, materials, and resources to assist museums in preserving their collections. In addition and importantly, our staff conservators are expert in museum object treatments and highly capable of diagnosing deterioration and recommending remedies which are effective, ethical, and financially appropriate. These high levels of skills and deep experiences in treatment are fundamental to our ability to assess the preservation needs of collections.

We are highly experienced in the assessment of overall museum preservation practices after many years of participating in grant funded assessment programs and we are especially expert in museum object condition evaluations.

Our participation in museum preservation activities have been funded by

  • Heritage Preservation Conservation Assessment Program (CAP)
  • Programs of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)
